Causes of Ovarian Cancer - 8 potential basic Conditions

The literal, causes of ovarian cancer remains unidentified to medical studies up to this present state of time. Only theories industrialized to assume the causes. Women who have gone straight through the post-menopausal stage are diagnosed of this ailment. Also, those who suffer obesity, using fertility drug for more than one year, taking estrogen transfer therapy (Medication that contains female hormones) and can no longer bear a child.

Here are some possible assumptions of medical researches on what causes the ovarian cancer:

Ovarian Cancer

It may be the relationship of ovulation and risk of ovulation cancer. It concludes that women who have been pregnant and who have not been using contraceptive pills can be more susceptible of having this. Furthermore, the early start as well as the late start of having menstruation is also associated with ovarian cancer. an additional one assumption is linking to cancer-causing substances enter straight through the vagina up to the ovaries. Male hormones can be a cause of ovarian cancer like taking androgens. Genetic factors can increase the risk of getting ovarian cancer. If a person inherited a fault (mutation) from one of the parents, the cancer-preventing protein is less likely productive and that increase the chances of inherit the disease. Most women have this inherited gene mutation. Experts say that the longer the hormone transfer therapy continues the more the women are at risk of getting it. Once a person was diagnosed of breast cancer, it posed threat of having it as well. Unhealthy diet prominent to obesity is one possible factor. In most studies, overweight in later age have twice the risk of those who are perfectly fit. 30% of women who have endometriosis ( cells inside the uterus are found emerging face the uterus) and using Danazol medicine is one main possible cause

Tumors form in the ovaries if non-cancerous is benign or malignant if it is cancerous. Three types of tumor are epithelial cell (start on the lining of ovaries), germ cell (most are benign and found in the cell which produces the eggs), and stromal (start off in the cells make female hormones)

A associated death under this cancer classification is well known to many. It kills 15,000 lives in the Us each passing year and to countless number of women worldwide. Doctors, medical researches are still seeing for literal, causes of this deadly ailment. Risk factors (age, obesity, reproductive history, gynecologic surgery, fertility drugs, androgens, estrogen and hormone therapy, and family history) of developing ovarian cancer do not mean that everybody can get the disease and do not apply to all.

Birth operate pills as many population are unaware can decrease the possibility of having it to develop. Clinical studies reported that women who are taking the pills for more than 5 years are less likely susceptible to construct this kind of cancer with the division of 50-70%. Some other decreasing factors are having children and with no family history of cancer.

3 Terrible Ovarian Cancer Symptoms

Ovarian cancer has a very dismal prognosis. However, if you are able to identify the top 3 terrible ovarian cancer symptoms early on, you might have a great occasion of surviving. But don't get fully mislead, as the top 3 terrible ovarian cancer symptoms are not necessarily 'terrible'. Yes, they denote that you have a horrifying disease, but in and of themselves they are not much worse than symptoms linked with less serious diseases. Yet, they definitely should not be overlooked, especially if they persist over a long period of time. This description will discuss the top 3 terrible ovarian cancer symptoms including: abdominal problems, incontinence and dyspareunia.

The first symptom of the top 3 ovarian cancer symptoms we are going to talk about involves problems within the abdominal region. This ordinarily starts off with abdominal swelling. The swelling gets so bad that a woman may have issue zipping up her jeans. She may think the basal issue is weight gain, but many times it isn't, especially if the woman has been eating normally. Additionally, a woman may have digestive problems to accompany her swollen belly. These digestive problems could contain nausea, indigestion or abnormal bowel habits.

Ovarian Cancer

The next symptom on the list is incontinence. This is when a woman is not able to urinate normally. She may have the psychological urge to urinate too much, even if she can't do so physically. She may also leak urine. Granted, a urinary tract infection could also cause incontinence, but a woman won't know for sure unless she goes to the doctor. If the incontinence is caused by a urinary tract infection, the qoute should clear up after the woman is given antibiotics. If it isn't, and age isn't a factor, she could definitely have ovarian cancer.

The final symptom we are going to talk about is dyspareunia. What is dyspareunia? In layman's terms it is defined as painful sexual intercourse. This is one of the few early symptoms of ovarian cancer that verily affects the reproductive region. However, some women have painful intercourse and are healthy. They may attribute their sexual dysfunction due to not being in the mood, or maybe not being lubricated enough. Yet, if the qoute occurs over time and a woman has experienced the other symptoms featured in this article, she should get herself checked out.

In conclusion, the 3 main ovarian cancer symptoms are: abdominal problems, incontinence and dyspareunia. All of these symptoms can verily be mistaken for other conditions, even by medical professionals, but hopefully if a woman goes to the doctor enough, they should be able to pinpoint the true cause. And if this cause is ovarian cancer, at least the woman had the advantage of getting it noticed early. This doesn't mean she won't have to struggle for her life, but at least she has a greater occasion in that struggle. Ultimately, if any of the 3 terrible ovarian cancer symptoms apply to you, don't hope they'll go away. Get a medical exam as soon as possible.

Ovarian Cysts by transvaginal Ultrasound - Quistes de ovario a través de Ultrasonido Transvaginal 1 Tube. Duration : 0.65 Mins.

Enviado por " CONSULTORIO MÉDICO FLORES BUISSON " MÁNCORA- PERÚ... URL: consultoriomedicofloresmancora.es.tl ... Ovarian Cysts Overview Ovarian cysts are small fluid-filled sacs that develop in a woman's ovaries. Most cysts are harmless, but some may cause problems such as rupturing, bleeding, or pain; and surgery may be required to remove the cyst(s). It is important to understand how these cysts may form. Women normally have two ovaries that store and release eggs. Each ovary is about the size of a walnut, and one ovary is located on each side of the uterus. One ovary produces one egg each month, and this process starts a woman's monthly menstrual cycle. The egg is enclosed in a sac called a follicle. An egg grows inside the ovary until estrogen (a hormone), signals the uterus to prepare itself for the egg. In turn, the uterus begins to thicken itself and prepare for pregnancy. This cycle occurs each month and usually ends when the egg is not fertilized. All contents of the uterus are then expelled if the egg is not fertilized. This is called a menstrual period. In an ultrasound image, ovarian cysts resemble bubbles. The cyst contains only fluid and is surrounded by a very thin wall. This kind of cyst is also called a functional cyst, or simple cyst. If a follicle fails to rupture and release the egg, the fluid remains and can form a cyst in the ovary. This usually affects one of the ovaries. Small cysts (smaller than one-half inch) may be present in a normal ovary ...

Stages of Ovarian Cancer

There are four exact stages of ovarian cancer. Knowing these stages will help you to resolve what your treatment options are and what symptoms to look for so you can get the upper hand on the silent killer.

Stage one is when the cancer is minuscule to the ovaries only. Within this there are three stages. Stage 1A is when the cancer is minuscule to just one ovary, 1B is when the cancer is in both ovaries and 1C is with tumors on whether one or both ovaries and a tumor on the surface.

Ovarian Cancer

Stage two is when the ovarian cancer involves one or both ovaries with pelvic extension. Stage 2A is when the cancer has extended to the uterus and/or the tubes, 2B is when the cancer has extended to the pelvic tissues and 2C is a tumor with a ruptured capsule that contains malignant cells.

Stage three is ovarian cancer that involves one or both of the ovaries and the cancer has spread exterior the pelvis. Liver metastasis can equal stage three ovarian cancer. Stage 3A is when the cancer is minuscule to the pelvis but minuscule examination shows seeding in the abdominal cavity, 3B is when the cancer has come to be implanted on abdominal surfaces but nothing is above two centimeters in diameter and 3C is any abdominal cancers over two centimeters in diameter.

Stage four is a growth on one or both of the ovaries with distant metastasis. Stage 4A is an prolongation of metastasis to the uterus and/or the tube, 4B is an prolongation to the pelvic tissues and 3C is a ruptured capsule with malignant cells.

How Do You forestall Ovarian Cancer Killing? - identify These Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

One of the reasons why more and more women are getting knowledge about ovarian cancer is because they have ultimately understood that the Silent Killer is more prevalent than was understanding of before. In fact, new statistics show that one out of every 55 women in the Us is suffering from ovarian cancer. 1/70 women all over the world have also been diagnosed with suffering from this cancer in its first or final stages. The main qoute is that being known as the silent killer is the fancy why so many women do not know that they are suffering from ovarian cancer, they are not able to identify the Ovarian Cancer Symptoms that are detected in the very early stages.

In the early stages, the cancerous cells started multiplying abnormally in the ovary. They also began to manifest themselves in some symptoms, which were disregarded by the patients. So, it is assuredly important that you look out for the silent symptoms, which might foretell the nearnessy of cancer in your body.

Ovarian Cancer

Here are some of the symptoms, which may manifest themselves all alone or in conjunction with other symptoms. One need not reiterate the fact that it is assuredly important that you need to consult a physician if any of these early inherent ovarian cancer symptoms persist for more than a week. Ovarian cancer like any other cancer can be cured in the first stages. It is only in the final stages, when it has reached the metastasis stage of spreading to other parts of the body, that the chances of survival are reduced proportionately. That is the fancy why one needs to be on the lookout for these particular symptoms.

Do you feel lethargic and a feeling of occasional nausea? Do you find a feeling of heaviness in the solar plexus, abdomen, and in the pelvic area? Have you noticed some irregular bleeding, apart from general menstrual bleeding? Is the menstrual bleeding abnormally heavy and has been going on for too long a period? Have you suddenly found yourself losing weight or gaining weight drastically during the past merge of weeks? Have you begun feeling pain during intercourse?

These are just some of the symptoms of prospective ovarian cancer, and it is assuredly important that you go to a physician and tell her about the symptoms. She is going to take an ovarian biopsy, and/or is going to do a pelvic examination. It is only then that she can diagnose the nearnessy of the disease, the extent of its spread, and then prescription adequate medication to stem the future expansion of the cancerous cells.

Surgery in the shape of hysterectomy or the extraction of the uterus is going to be done only when it is important and to forestall further metastasis. Otherwise, doctors go in for a debulking surgery. This means that a large part of the tumor is removed during surgery. This is going to heighten the chances of survival.

Portions of the tumor are going to be sent for a histopathological examination to confirm the nearnessy of ovarian surgery. But one surely does not want to allow the cancer to reach that stage, does one? That is the fancy why it is highly important that you go and see a physician as soon as possible, the occasion you see any of these inherent ovarian cancer symptoms given above manifesting themselves. Listen to your body "talk", and supervene the signs.

But actually there are any other factors that work on whether a outpatient could survive for 5 months, or even be able to live more than five months. Estimated life expectancy of patients a doctor can be used as consideration for rehabilitation and other decisions made at the end of life.

Ovarian cancer patients who come to the doctor at an early stage, they have a good prognosis; they still have hoped to live longer, maybe even get rid of.

Ovarian Cancer

For patients who are newly arrived to come on stage Iii or more, regularly they have a poor prognosis. Unfortunately, most patients with this disease detected at an developed stage, in developed cancer has spread to other body parts face the ovary. The spread of disease to other body parts will work on the functioning of the organ, other organs that could be affected include: the uterus, lining, colon, lung and bladder. What is the effect, inter alia, that the organs come to be unable to function properly, so the balance of the body affected.

From source Wikipedia, the written matter relating to Ovarian Cancer, those patients with ovarian cancer have a 5-year survival rate for all stages of 45.5%. If this disease is diagnosed at an early stage, when the cancer has not spread beyond the ovary, 5-year survival rate was 92.7%.

5 Ovary Cancer Symptoms

Cancer, one of the curative issues that none of us want to think about. There are so many different kinds of cancer and each one can influence everybody in slightly different way. One particular cancer, ovarian cancer, is undoubtedly a more severe type. The Ovary Cancer Symptoms should be known by every woman in order to stay as wholesome as possible.

Ovarian cancer, or the silent killer, unfortunately is not diagnosed until the later stages due to the symptoms are commonly overlooked or misdiagnosed. This particular cancer commonly occurs in women over 50 but can occur during the younger years. As with any type of cancer, the sooner it is discovered, the sooner the allowable medicine can be started and the cancer terminated.

Ovarian Cancer

1 - Abdominal swelling/bloating - This is a tasteless indication of illness for a range of curative conditions therefore this indication of illness is unmistakably overlooked. It has been reported of lower abdominal ache occurs after eating.

2 - Poor Appetite - Most women today have this "symptom". The woman's daily habit can be so hectic that the right foods are not eaten as it is much easier to grab a cheeseburger and fries or simply there is a loss of appetite which again can result from any whole of issues occurring.

3 - Weight Loss - an additional one indication of illness that can be a indication of illness of other issues such as stress or simply by beginning a new rehearsal program in order to willingly lose unwanted weight.

4 - Constipation - If you are not eating right, therefore not getting adequate fiber, you will probably suffer from constipation.

5 - Bleeding - This indication of illness may be a less tasteless indication of illness for other curative issues so if you have any of the first four symptoms along with bleeding from the vaginal area, you should consult with your physician or gynecologist.

As it was noted earlier, there unmistakably aren't any highly noticeable ovary cancer symptoms that will indicate to a woman that she needs to have the issue addressed immediately. It is unfortunate that for this particular cancer, it can go unnoticed for an indefinite duration of time. You have any concerns, please discuss them with your doctor.

Chemotherapy for Ovarian Cancer - How Does it Work?

There are three main treatments for ovarian cancer, once a analysis is made. These are surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. In some cases it will be recommended to have two or even all three of these treatments. When chemotherapy is recommended, it is usually given after the surgery in 6 doses spaced 3 weeks apart. This is called "first line" because it is the first time chemo is administered.

The chemotherapy drugs are injected intravenously, often by way of a port which your oncologist will place in your chest or arm. Sometimes intraperitoneal chemo is used which injects the drugs directly into the abdomen.

Ovarian Cancer

The acceptable initial therapy recommend by doctors uses a mixture of a platinum-based drug such as carboplatin or cisplatin along with a taxane such as paclitaxel or docetaxel.

Chemotherapy drugs kill cancer cells that are left in your body after surgery, but they also damage normal cells, as the drugs do not differentiate in the middle of normal and diseased. The uncomplicated explanation is that they work by destroying rapidly-dividing cells which is a report of cancer cells. Unfortunately, other cells in the body also fall under this category and are also damaged in the process. The hair follicles are an example, which is why most patients sense hair loss. It is only a temporary health though and the hair will begin to grow back almost immediately after the chemo is stopped, although in some cases it will look different at first. Other healthy cells that are damaged comprise red and white blood cells, platelets (which are needed for clotting), and cells that line the gastrointestinal tract. This can often cause the nausea which is so common with the treatment.

Because the chemo drugs can damage the bone marrow that usually produce cells, patients can sense low blood cell counts and often must take yet other medication to encourage the bone marrow to begin producing cells again. The mixture of all of these drugs sometimes causes habitancy to have mild forgetfulness and memory loss often referred to as "chemo brain." This should go away once treatments end.

Learn About Ovarian Cancer determination

There is no standardized screening process for the detection of ovarian cancer. However, if your physician suspects, after reviewing any symptoms you have, that you may have ovarian cancer, he will advise that you take one or more of the following diagnostic procedures:

A pelvic examination. In this procedure, your physician examines your vagina, uterus, rectum and pelvis, including your ovaries, for masses or growths. If you've had your uterus removed (hysterectomy) but still have your ovaries, continue getting quarterly pelvic exams.

Ovarian Cancer

An ultrasound. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to yield images of the inside of the body. Pelvic ultrasound provides a safe, noninvasive way to rate the size, shape and configuration of the ovaries.

Ultrasound can't reliably differentiate a cancerous increase from one that's not cancerous. Ultrasound can also detect fluid in your abdominal cavity, a inherent sign of ovarian cancer. Because this develops in many conditions other than ovarian cancer, however, its proximity necessitates more testing.

A Ca 125 blood test. Ca 125 is a protein made by your body in response to many distinct conditions. Many women with ovarian cancer have abnormally high levels of Ca 125 in their blood. However, a whole of noncancerous conditions also cause elevated Ca 125 levels, and many women with early-stage ovarian cancer have normal Ca 125 levels. Due to this lack of specifics, this test is not a quarterly procedure for median risk women.

There are other tests you may take including, computerized tomography (Ct) and magnetic resonance imaging (Mri), which both supply detailed, cross-sectional images of the inside of your body. Your physician also may order a chest X-ray to resolve if cancer has spread to the lungs or to the pleural space surrounding the lungs, where fluid can accumulate.

Ovarian Cancer and Hysterectomies - Becoming Informed About Your Options

A hysterectomy is not often a course that needs to be performed urgently, except in the case of cancer. Therefore, a woman considering the course should take time to research all her options, together with other inherent treatments. There are now new treatments for conditions that previously would have required a hysterectomy. Women advised to have a hysterectomy for a non-cancerous condition before being offered more conservative treatments may find it beneficial to seek a second opinion.

Deciding either to have a hysterectomy can be a difficult and emotional process. By becoming informed about the procedure, women can confidently discuss ready options, concerns and wishes with their doctor, and make a decision that is right for them.

Ovarian Cancer

If you, too, have been questioning the necessity of a surgical operation for fibroids, prolapse, incontinence or any "cele" repairs, you will be reassured to know you have every right in doing so. The decision to feel surgical operation of any kind is often difficult, so it is often beneficial to peruse other alternatives before captivating forward. Women, especially colse to the time of menopause, are too often advised to have major gynecological surgical operation for minor conditions that can be significantly improved with natural alternatives

Every 10 minutes, 12 hysterectomies are performed in the United States. That is over 600,000 per year, of which only 10% are due to cancer. This surgical operation most often does not exact the diagnosed question and instead results in new afflictions. And, argues Dr. Stanley West, author of The Hysterectomy Hoax, nine out of ten hysterectomies are unnecessary.

We need to ask "How have these surgeries impacted the potential of life for women?" Nowhere in the gynecological literature did the study address the estimate of women for whom sex had become painful or impossible. Nowhere were there studies to track the estimate of marriages that failed or were severely compromised as a ensue of these post-surgical complications or alcoholism or drug addiction resulting from debilitating continuing pain.

Women who have been hysterectomized touch a myriad of negative side effects, together with continuing pain and fatigue, depression, and pain while sex. These are only a fraction of the long list of unwanted symptoms reported by women after surgery.

So, if you decide, or have already decided, that surgical operation is not an option, you are probably request yourself, "Now what?" I have asked myself this same question. But, I will tell you, there is no quick fix. As women we must understand our bodies to care for them in a clear way.

The more I retell this branch the stronger I feel about informing women before they make this important decision. Stoppage is the key and hormone balance is the answer.

For the most part those who are encouraged to have their uterus's removed are likely suffering from estrogen excess which is explained well by Dr. John Lee.

Balancing hormones involves working on a few fronts using simple strategies.

1. Evaluate your hormones using a saliva test - settle what is happening in your body - ask your self the question - are you estrogen dominant? Use a saliva test to find the answer.

2. Optimize your diet by lowering your insulin levels. Over 2/3 of North Americans are overweight. This extra weight increases insulin levels causing estrogen dominance to increase. Eat 40/30/30

3. If the saliva test shows the need, use a natural progesterone cream in the process of rebalancing your hormonal system

4. Exercise to sell out excess estrogen and to eliminate toxins

5. Drink more water

6. Supplement with wisdom using our hormone balancing agenda of fiber, indoles, efa, multi - fruit & veggi essence, calcium

Early Warning Signs of Ovarian Cancer

What are the early warning signs of ovarian cancer? This is a very difficult ask to answer, because while there are symptoms in the beginning stages of the disease, they tend to be so mild that both the woman herself and her doctors may not think the symptoms are indicative of ovarian cancer. This is particularly the case if the woman doesn't have ovarian cancer in her family's history. Yet, it's still helpful if women are at least aware of the most common signs of ovarian cancer. By knowing what the symptoms are, she may not discredit the possibility of ovarian cancer, especially if they get worse in a relatively short period of time. This article will help women fetch this knowledge by explaining in detail the two main warning signs: abdominal pain and urinary incontinence.

Abdominal Pain

Ovarian Cancer

The first sign of ovarian cancer that you should look out for is abdominal pain. This is due to the ovarian tumors attacking the abdomen, resulting in fluid build-up that puts pressure on the nerves. Yet, the pain may not feel much dissimilar than what a woman gets if she has a tummy ache or even bad gas. So, the key is going to be how long the abdominal pain lasts. Tummy aches and gas normally don't last too long, especially when the source of what is causing the problem gets taken care of. The abdominal pain will be lasting and worsen over time. In the latter stages of ovarian cancer, the pain will be accompanied with abdominal girth and digestive problems.

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is also a very common symptom of ovarian cancer. This is when a woman has an abnormal urge to urinate more than normal. When she does go to the bathroom, she may or may not for real urinate. Sometimes a woman may even leak urine even if she has gone to the bathroom. Now, incontinence is a much more important than abdominal pain, so it may prompt a woman to seek at least a check-up. However, even the gynecologist may not realise what the problem is. This is because urinary incontinence can be a symptom of other diseases, some of which aren't even serious. An example is a urinary tract infection, a condition that can for real be treated with antibiotics. Yet, if the urinary tract infection is for real indicative of ovarian cancer, antibiotics will not get it to go away.

So, what does a woman do if she exhibits any of the early warning signs of ovarian cancer? She needs to go to the physician and let them know she has concerns over whether or not her symptoms are a consequent of the condition. The physician will evaluate whether or not she is at high risk for the disease. If she is the physician will probably advise ovarian cancer screening. If she isn't the physician will probably wait to see if the symptoms enlarge before suggesting any lawful screening. The fancy this is the case is because women who are not at high risk for ovarian cancer tend to get misdiagnosed when they get ovarian cancer screening. Doctors want to avoid the possibility of a woman getting unnecessary ovarian cancer treatment.

What Are the Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer?

Ovarian cancer often has no symptoms (or only very mild ones) until it begins to spread beyond the ovaries. Unfortunately, there is no efficient way of screening for ovarian cancer at this time. The efficient rehabilitation of ovarian cancer will be significantly increased if researchers can compose a screening test that helps doctors recognize ovarian cancer at its early stages. Any large studies are currently underway, but the results will not be available for Any years.

Some bodily symptoms of ovarian cancer include:

Ovarian Cancer

- abdominal ache or pelvic pain
- bloating
- strangeness eating or feeling full speedily
- frequent excretion
- fatigue
- backache
- nausea, indigestion, loss of appetite
- weight loss
- turn in bowel habits
- gas
- pain while intercourse
- abnormal vaginal bleeding (rare)

If you find that these symptoms last longer than three weeks or consistently are expanding in intensity, palpate your doctor. One other thing to remember is that these symptoms can also be caused by other condition issues, not necessarily cancer.

Some other causes could be bladder infections or digestive disorders. The best way to be sure is to get tested. In fact it is not uncommon for a woman to with ovarian cancer to be diagnosed with an additional one condition before finally studying she has cancer.

Doctors can commonly diagnose ovarian cancer within three months of women first noticing symptoms, but sometimes it may take six months or longer before a pathology can be made. I hope I've made the symptoms pretty clear and now you have some great info to go by.

Genetic Mutation Animation: Excerpt from IN THE FAMILY

Genetic Mutation Animation: Excerpt from IN THE FAMILY Video Clips. Duration : 1.82 Mins.

IN THE FAMILY will air on POV, the award winning PBS series, October 1st, 2008. In the Family is a documentary film about predicting breast and ovarian cancer, the consequences of knowing, and the women who live with the risk. Beginning with her story of testing positive for the familial breast cancer mutation (BRCA), Filmmaker Joanna Rudnick chronicles the lives of several women currently undergoing the process of genetic testing -- following them from their decision to seek testing, through the testing process, and in the aftermath when they are coming to terms with the information they receive. These stories of the first generation of women to live with the knowledge that they are predisposed to a life-threatening disease will teach us what it means to survive a diagnosis of high risk without being consumed or defined by it. They will help us to understand the psychological, legal, ethical, cultural and social complexities of genetic testing for a mutation, which affects the entire family, for which there is no cure, and wherein the only treatments currently available involve enormous quality-of-life sacrifices.

Natural Treatments For Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is formed in the cells on the outside of the cervix. The cervix is located in the pelvic area and is the lower part of the uterus which connects the uterus to the birth canal. Cervical cancer is a form of uterine cancer, and is a slow-growing malignant cancer.

Cervical cancer is generally caused by the human papillomavirus (Hpv) which is spread straight through sexual contact. This virus can live in the body for many years before any cancer is formed, and in some cases the cancer never forms. The presume the cancer does not form in some individuals who have the virus, is because they have a salutary lifestyle and a strong immune system.

Ovarian Cancer

So by construction a strong immune system, one can forestall this cancer from forming. To build a salutary immune law one must consume a salutary diet. Animal proteins should be avoided, together with all meat, dairy, and poultry. Processed foods, refined sugars, and most cooked foods should be eliminated from the diet.

Then we need to add in the good stuff like lots of fruits and vegetables, herbs, nuts and seeds. Freshly squeezed fruit juices are also vital in helping to build a strong immune system.

But what if cancer has already formed, is there still a way to be healed naturally? Absolutely. Botanical and Chinese medicines have been very efficient in treating and curing cancer.

There are also home remedies which can be taken at home. Some of them include:

Apricot seeds: Apricot seeds comprise vitamin B17 which helps to kill cancerous cells. Naturally add them to your daily diet in your smoothies. Other seeds that comprise vitamin B17 are apple, chia, flax and sesame seeds.

Tea: Natural teas are not only a great substitute for other sugary drinks that lead to the increase and formation of cancerous cells, but they can help to flush out the toxins to help forestall the cancer from spreading. Ginger is very efficient in not only preventing the cancer from spreading, but the gingerols contained in ginger can help to kill the cancerous cells. Thus ginger tea is very beneficial. Other teas to comprise in your diet are spearmint and dandelion teas.

Other natural remedies comprise the use of Burr Marigold, Goji berries, Brazil nuts, Luffah, Cat's Claw, Neem Leaves and Neem Flowers, Muskmelon, Pine pollen, Rosemary, Ginkgo, Saffron, and Artichoke.

If one can be healed using these remedies, then one can also forestall the cancer from occurring in the first place, just by production them a part of a living food diet.

Causes and Risk Factors of Ovarian Cancer

Today doctors still do not know exactly what causes women to get ovarian cancer. However, investigate has helped to identify safe bet risk factors that can lead to ovarian cancer or make a someone more susceptible to ovarian cancer. The risk factors will growth a persons chance of developing ovarian cancer.

Through investigate and statistics it has been thought about that ovarian cancer is typically found in women over the age of sixty. This was in at least fifty percent of the reported cases of ovarian cancer. It is most common in post-menopausal women which is why it is still potential that is can invent in younger women as well.

Ovarian Cancer

In addition, investigate has shown that ovarian cancer is more likely to invent in Caucasian women rather than African American women. Women who have a prior history of breast cancer will also have an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer at some time in their life. Scientists believe this is because of the mutated Brca gene.

Family history also plays a big role. Those who have a house history of colorectal, breast or ovarian cancer are at an increased risk of getting ovarian cancer sometime in their life. Once again scientists believe this is because of the inherited Brca1 and Brca2 genes.

Doctors have found that post menopausal women who use hormone exchange therapy have a higher risk of getting ovarian cancer. Those who have never had children or children after the age of thirty have an increased risk factor. Doctor believe this is because the estimate of menstrual cycles a woman has affects the chances of getting ovarian cancer.

Those who use fertility drugs will have a three times more likely chance of having ovarian cancer over those who don't use fertility drugs. Those who use fertility drugs and don't conceive will have an supplementary higher risk.

Are Your Ovarian Cysts Bleeding? Helpful facts You Need to Know About This condition

Not all women with ovarian cysts suffer from ovarian cyst bleeding, which is particularly rare symptom of the condition. The pain a woman experiences depends on the nature and size of the cysts. Painful cysts comprise ruptured cysts and misshapen cysts which are bleeding and infected. Ovarian cysts bleeding can corollary to a lot of complications, such as abdominal tissue inflammation and torsion or twisting, which cuts off the blood circulation to the cyst.

Ovarian cysts may comprise small amounts blood if they develop after your menstruation. Yet you may also find bleeding as a symptom if your cysts have ruptured. Ovarian cyst bleeding is the former symptom of hemorrhagic cysts, which results from blood loss. If you perceive hemorrhagic symptoms accompanied with pain, you must consult your physician right away so you can preclude harmful complications. The physician can either take off your cyst or cauterize it to stop the bleeding process.

Ovarian Cancer

Women suffering from ovarian cyst bleeding should not fear that they might develop ovarian cancer, because cancerous cysts do not bleed. Bleeding is a distinguishing symptom for only benign ovarian cysts.

A condition characteristic of more cysts settled at the ovarian lining is called polycystic ovarian syndrome (Pos.). This occurs in about 4-7% of women in reproductive years. Women who suffer from this condition perceive unusual bleeding, miscarriages. They are regularly infertile. Detecting this condition cannot be accomplished by ultrasound alone. Supplementary examinations are required to confirm the diagnosis. But once a proper prognosis is made, you can stat taking steps for a healthier future.

possible Ovarian Cyst Issues and How to Deal With Them

Ovarian cysts are a common issue among women, but in most cases they're not thought about too dangerous. Still, it is a possibility that women need to be aware of and is the main theorize why it is so crucial to take care of yourself and make sure you get regular pap tests. You're much less likely to end up dealing with ovarian cysts issues if you stay on top of things and get in to see the physician regularly. The qoute lies in ovarian cyst complications, which is enduringly a possibility when a cyst is found.

Issues can variety from being something as easy as exiguous pain to the onset of ovarian cancer. The woman might touch this in the pelvic or abdominal area, and it can variety from getting mild to so severe that they could hardly move. Larger cysts can wind up causing the ovaries to twist which is an extreme situation, for which immediate surgery is roughly enduringly necessary. Within the absolute worst-case scenarios, ovarian cysts can wind up getting malignant and cause ovarian cancer.

Ovarian Cancer

The worst point about ovarian cancer is that there are frequently no signs and symptoms so a woman may not even realize that there's anyone wrong until it is as well late. That includes bloating, pelvic pain and indigestion which are all also typical signs and symptoms of the start of a woman's menstrual period. Actual risk factors comprise inherited gene mutations, infertility and the hormone change therapy which has been connected with ovarian cancer and highest among ladies who have taken hormone change therapy for a lot more than five years. You can find no standardized screening tests that are specifically for ovarian cancer, but if doctors peruse any cysts that seem suspicious they could determine to send the woman for screening tests.

When there are cancerous cysts in a woman's body, they tend to spread swiftly and even to other areas from the body for example the abdomen and chest. This is when it truly gets serious and when ladies find out they have ovarian cancer as well late, there's a surely slim occasion of recovery. Signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, for the ladies who do consideration them, could range from abdominal pressure, bloating and pelvic pain to indigestion, changes in bowel habits and loss of appetite. These symptoms are so normal so there are lots of women who might be experiencing them but who may just pass them off as being caused by their menstrual cycle or foods they've eaten.

Ovarian cyst complications are quite rare but they do happen. While there's no surefire way to avoid developing a disease like ovarian cancer, the most crucial thing is catching it early. You know your physique much great than anyone. You know yourself great than anyone and have to feel comfortable talking to your physician if you're ever worried that something's wrong.

Was Your Ovarian Cancer Misdiagnosed?

As many as 30,000 U.S. Women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year. In 2006, in the middle of 15,000 and 16,000 women are likely to die from this silent killer. Ovarian cancer is the 5th prominent cause of death among women, and it is responsible for about five percent of all cancer deaths. Chances are your physician may have misdiagnosed you. That is often the case. A recent British study found 60 percent of all U.K. Normal practitioners had misdiagnosed their patients.

Three-quarters of British doctors surveyed incorrectly assumed that symptoms only occurred in the late stages of ovarian cancer. Based upon that information, it should be no surprise that Britain has one of the lowest survival rates for ovarian cancer in the Western World - of 6,800 cases diagnosed each year, more than 4,600 die.

Ovarian Cancer

A similar discovery was made by University of California researchers, who announced last year, "Four in 10 women with ovarian cancer have symptoms that they tell their doctors about at least four months -- and as long as one year -- before they are diagnosed." agreeing to their study of nearly 2,000 women with ovarian cancer, the researchers discovered physicians:

o First ordered abdominal imaging or performed gastrointestinal procedures instead of the more thorough pelvic imaging and/or Ca-125 (a blood test that can detect ovarian cancer).

o Only 25 percent of patients, who reported ovarian cancer symptoms four or more months before diagnosis, were given pelvic imaging or had Ca-125 blood tests.

Patients with early symptoms are often misdiagnosed. Abdominal imaging or diagnostic gastrointestinal studies are less likely to detect ovarian cancer. agreeing to the American Cancer Society's website, "The most base indication of illness is back pain, followed by fatigue, bloating, constipation, abdominal pain and urinary urgency. These symptoms tend to occur very often and become more severe with time. Most women with ovarian cancer have at least two of these symptoms."

By the time a woman reaches the fourth stage of ovarian cancer, her first-line medicine is often Carboplatin, Paclitaxel and Cisplatin as the specific chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. In the first stage, cancer is contained inside one or both ovaries. By stage two, the cancer has spread into the fallopian tubes or other pelvic tissues, such as the bladder or rectum. When the cancer has spread surface the pelvis area into the abdominal cavity, especially when tumor growths are larger than two centimeters on the lining of the abdomen, then ovarian cancer has reached stage three. The fourth and final stage of ovarian cancer is reached when the cancer has spread into other body organs, such as the liver or lungs.

If detected early, survival rates can be as high as 90 percent. Detected in the advanced stage, the survival rate falls to in the middle of 30 and 40 percent. Varied imaging tests such as computed tomography (Ct) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (Mri) scans, and ultrasound studies can confirm whether a pelvic mass is present. A laparoscopy can help a physician look at the ovaries and other pelvic tissue to in order to plan out a surgical procedure, or to determine the stage of the ovarian cancer. A biopsy, or tissue sampling, would confirm if there is cancer in your pelvic region, and would help determine how advanced it is. An elevated Ca-125 blood test typically suggests the cancer has progressed to the advanced stage.

About 50 percent of ovarian cancer patients are already at an advanced stage by the time a spoton prognosis is made. Only 10 to 14 percent of women with advanced cancer are likely to survive more than five years.

Evaluation of Therapies

While investigate shows drinking black (or green) tea or taking the herbal supplement gingko biloba may be useful, as a prophylactic measure, or to cut risk, a woman has few choices when her cancer has moved to the advanced stage. In the first stage, a woman faces surgical removal of the tumor, and perhaps one or both ovaries, to growth her chances of survival. Beyond that, her choice is chemotherapy.

One major question with chemotherapy is the side effects. The more advanced the cancer, the weaker one may be, reducing the survival rate potential. Survival rates have not changed very much over the past fifteen years. Chemotherapy can growth survival time by as much as 50 percent. But, potential of life suffers. The side effects and increased toxicity, with chemotherapy, cut how one spends the continued survival time.

Some of Paclitaxel's minor side effects, as reported by Medline Plus, may comprise nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, turn in taste, thinned or brittle hair, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, changes in the color of nails, and/or tingling in the hands or toes. More serious side effects may comprise mouth blistering or fatigue. Some alarming side effects could comprise unusual bleeding or bruising, dizziness, shortness of breath, severe exhaustion, chest pain, or difficulty swallowing. The most base side supervene of Paclitaxel is a decrease of blood cells.

Carboplatin has its own list of side effects. It can cut platelet production, which can interfere with your blood's potential to clot. You may become anemic, feeling tired or breathless. Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and a Normal feeling of weakness are base with this chemotherapeutic agent.

The newest breed of drugs, such as Eli Lilly's Gemzar, are hardly getting praise. On March 10th, the Food and Drug administration (Fda) said it was skeptical of the benefits Eli Lilly's Gemzar, which was being used with Carboplatin to treat ovarian cancer patients. The Fda felt the 2.8 months increased survival time, provided by the Gemzar/Carboplatin blend failed to offset the treatment's increased toxicity.

In January, the New England Journal of medicine reported on a mighty new delivery ideas of chemotherapy, called the "intra-abdominal, or intraperitoneal, chemotherapy. Those who received the "belly bath" as it is now being called by the media can survive 16 months longer than those receiving intravenous chemotherapy. The major drawback is that 60 percent of the women in the study were unable to unblemished all six cycles of this chemotherapy. Those who did survived longer, but only two in every five women were able to progress to the end phase of the therapy.

One novel approach, now in Phase Iii trials at more than 60 investigate centers over the United States, is OvaRex ® Mab, a murine monoclonal antibody, a type of biotech drug derived from mouse cells. It is being tested by extremely regarded United Therapeutics, based in Silver Springs, Maryland. Their lead drug Remodulin, an injection which treats pulmonary arterial hypertension, is currently being marketed inside and surface the United States. More than million has been spent researching, and on the development of, OvaRex and may have it available on the market by 2008.

OvaRex was advanced in Canada by a enterprise called ViRexx medical Corp, and first tested in that country. agreeing to Dr. Lorne Tyrrell, Chief menagerial of ViRexx, "The whole study has been set up with the Fda. This is a study where the drug has been given fast track approval and orphan drug status." Dr. Tyrrell is also on leave (until OvaRex become commercially available) as a Professor of medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta, and Director of the National Centre of Excellence for Viral Hepatitis Research.

OvaRex was tested in Canada, prior to the current Phase Iii trials in the U.S. "There have been a estimate of patients that have received OvaRex," said Dr. Tyrrell, "We've had in effect no adverse effects from these patients." Dr. Tyrrell explained the procedure, "After being injected intravenously, OvaRex binds to an antigen circulating in the blood." An antibody's Normal purpose is to neutralize an antigen. After an OvaRex injection, the murine monoclonal antibody binds to the Ca-125 antigen.

In a way the body is tricked. But, the body is tricked in order to help "save" itself from the harmful antigen. When the OvaRex antibody is bound to the Ca-125 antigen, the new blend is identified as a harmful unit. Before then, the antigen wanders straight through the body, without alerting the body's defense systems, the dendritic cells, to attack and destroy the harmful antigen. Because the body is trained to identify and zero in on a foreign protein, in this case a mouse protein, it alerts the dendritic cells. Until then, the dendritic cells "tolerate" the cancerous cells. The tolerance is what permits the cancer to spread throughout the body.
OvaRex seeks to break that tolerance. The murine monoclonal antibody is designed to target and bind exclusively to free floating Ca-125 antigen.

The dendritic cells refuse to tolerate the foreign protein. When the antibody binds with the free-floating antigen, the dendritic cells identify the complex (antibody plus antigen) as being foreign and engulf the new unit. The dendritic cells break down the key proteins of this unit, presenting all parts on the cells surface. At the point, the body's killer T-Cells are alerted to fight the internal threat to the body. Once activated, the T-Cells will replicate and originate more killer T-Cells. Any tumor cells expressing the Ca-125 antigen is targeted for destruction. The army of T-Cells move to attack the ovarian cancer tumor.

The principle behind OvaRex is to re-program the immune ideas to harness the body's defenses to preclude the growth and spread of the ovarian cancer. Will it cure ovarian cancer? "In most cases, it will be a delay," explained Dr. Tyrrell. "However, I think that, and every person hopes that, often in some of these tumors, you're development incremental progress straight through particular clinical trials and adding new therapy. Each thing we do that improves the outcome when you start to look at the long term benefits of these, we hope that one day we will be able to cure this disease. We think this is a step. This has the potential to be an prominent step at helping to stimulate immune response to achieve a good outcome. Hopefully, one day we can improve that to where it is a cure."

Was Your Ovarian Cancer Misdiagnosed?

The Truth Behind Ovarian Cancer Survival Rates

What is the truth behind ovarian cancer survival rates? Well, if you were to type "the truth behind ovarian cancer survival rates" into a hunt engine, you might be upset at the type of facts you find. This is because most sites that are dedicated towards telling the truth behind ovarian cancer survival rates tend to do so from a more negative angle. For example, in the United States only 50 percent of women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer will live beyond five years. And this statistic does not furnish any official hope that the disease will remain in remission beyond the five-year timeframe.

So, is this well the truth behind ovarian cancer survival rates? Yes and no. What many sites won't tell you is that the ovarian cancer survival rates are a lot more certain for women who have had their condition diagnosed early. In fact, for the 25 percent of women who are in this category, the ovarian cancer survival rate is an amazing 90 percent. Yet, most sites won't talk about this because the majority of women will get diagnosed in the latter stages of the disease, stages at which the disease has progressed too much for long-term survival.

Ovarian Cancer

How can a woman increase her chances of being part of the 25 percent that do get diagnosed early? This is a very difficult examine to answer. For some women waiting until ovarian cancer symptoms start could be adequate to get an early diagnosis. But there's a qoute with this strategy. First of all, most of the symptoms associated with ovarian cancer are not drastic. Incontinence, abdominal swelling and painful sex, the three main symptoms of the disease, can well be mistaken for conditions that are less serious. And even if woman suspects they are signs of ovarian cancer, it is potential that the condition has still progressed to a point that it has become lethal. This is because the symptoms are the same either the tumors are weighty or extremely small.

What's the best explication for a woman then? Well, if she has ovarian cancer in her family's history, she should think getting periodic ovarian cancer screening either or not she has symptoms. However, it should be noted that ovarian cancer screening, at least in its current state is not full-proof. It has a high rate of misdiagnosis, which could field a woman to unnecessary surgery, chemotherapy or other types of ovarian cancer treatment. Yet, if a woman is in a high risk category, ovarian cancer screening could be the very thing that saves her life.

In conclusion, when it comes to the truth behind ovarian cancer survival rates, there is someone else more hopeful side to the story. The key is trying to get early diagnosis, especially if you have the disease in your family. For everyone else, it's best to take preventative measures, since the risk of misdiagnosis from an ovarian cancer determination may be too high. preventative measures include: breastfeeding, having your first child before 35 but not before 20, taking birth control pills and having a hysterectomy.
